Embarassed Litters, this may be a silly question

Ok now that I have to wait for my puppy to be born. Yet again my mind is racing. The breeder will call me to see the puppies when they are a week old and then I can pick out my puppy. Here is my question: How do I know which one is mine in 10 weeks? I want to pick out a small one but what if they are all the same size? I have read that some have picked out a puppy from a photo of a litter but how do you know that they have not been switched?
For the breeders out there do you have a marking system?
