I couldn't do it... wouldn't do it. Besides the fact that it's somewhat creepy (try explaining to company that THAT is your deceased pet) it's no longer your dog. Your beloved pet has gone on to a much better place at that point and all you are preserving is its body. You can preserve the memories with pictures and small mementos (like a lock of their hair) to keep them close to you - without spending $400. To each his own though...
