Default Freeze Dry/Pet Preservation. Would you do this?

I've had thoughts about the day when I lose my baby boy Cookie . He's a young little guy still and he's very healthy now that he's been on his low protein diet. Well I had a nightmare a few days ago that I got home and found him dead on the kitchen floor. I woke up from the nightmare but could not fall asleep and cuddled him on my chest the whole night.

I don't think I could bare to bury him in the back or have him cremated. I know it sounds weird but the thought of putting him in the ground or keeping his ashes is something I doubt I can do. So I looked up pet preservation and found a bunch of sites that beautifully preserve your pet.No you will never get wet kisses or feel their little breaths anymore. But you send them pictures and request a pose you would like, sleeping, sitting with eyes open (glass eyes that look real) I read one story of an elderly lady that lost her pet and she could not bare to bury him . Her daughter decided to send the dog in dry ice and Fed Ex him to the preservation company. It took about 60 days to complete the process. When she opened the box , she burst into tears because her beloved pet was posed in such a realistic position and the hair was brushed so delicately. She kept him in a private part of the house.I talked to my husband about this just to see what he thought and he's so attached to Cookie & Lola also that he said he would probably seriously consider that also.

Would anyone here consider that? I have mixed feelings about it but I don't think that anyone that does this is crazy either. The cost for small dogs is around $400
