Default Pee Pad- substitue with baby diapers?

Hi all. I was meeting with a client today and the topic of conversation shifted to the silky terrier that he just adopted. The little silky is one year old, had been abandoned and has not been trained much. Anyway, we got on the subject of WizDog, Pipi Dolly and pee pads. His Silky is trained to use pee pads. That of course led to the discussion about the cost of the things. He said that once a dog is trained to use a pee pad, you can substitute baby diapers (not put on the dog, of course). They are much cheaper. Is this true? Has anyone had any luck with this? Needless to say, we were both beyond belief at where the topic of conversation had gone and we had a good laugh. I actually had him blushing a bit when I mentioned WizDog and Pipi Dolly!
