Since he just had a surgery I would think you're entitled to a free vet call. He probably hasn't eaten enough to produce a bowel movement. Your the best person to know if he seems to be alright. If he seems fine and his stomach isn't bloated and hard I would probably wait and just continue pushing fluids. There was just a post in the last day or two about a spay surgery patient not pooping for 3 days and she finally did and she was fine.
About Rimadyl - there is a lot of controversy about using Rimadyl, but if the dog is not allergic to it and has arthritis it really does seem to help them. My mom's maltese was on it for years without problems. I do think the vets should tell us a little more about what symptoms to watch for though since there has been quite a few deaths from the drug. |
