Unfortunately, I do know how you feel because I've been there. Thankfully, she was returned. Call all the vets in your city and try to go visit them personally and put flyers on their bulletin boards. Contact the animal control, rescue groups, humane society. Put an ad in the paper. I also placed large posterboards on every corner in my neighborhood and covered them with tape in case it rained. I would also call my friends and start knocking on doors.
Don't beat yourself up about her not being microchipped (although it is a good idea) because if a dishonest person found her it probably wouldn't help and if an honest person found her you will get her back with or without a microchip.
