I had trouble finding a vet that would do both the dew claws AND the tail docking as I wanted to have it done at the same time. I guess it's a personal preference. I'm glad I had it done though but the only thing bad I've heard about leaving them there is that they do get caught on things.
When I had Bentley and Bitsy at the vet this past week for shots the lady checking me out asked me about the tail docking and said that she couldn't stay in there and watch it when it was being done. She told me that they squirmed and squeeled like it hurt really bad
She did NOT have to tell me that!
