Many one here have gotten them at 8 weeks, myself included. But they do so much better being with their siblings and Mom. Then there is also the concern of hypoglycemia. These little guys can play so hard and then fall asleep and forget to eat, and then die in their sleep. So they have to be watched very carefully. It also depends on whether or not you work or are able to be at home with the puppy. If you are gone all day I would say definitely Do NOT get it at 8 weeks.
