When my Yorkie was a pup and had "yucky puppy hair," I did bathe him once a week. But he really doesn't need a bath that often now ---unless he goes out and gets dirty.

He has no body odor - he has wonderful, easy-to-comb silky (wavy) hair - it never tangles - and to date I have kept him in a short hair cut.

AND - I will have to admit - he is a "hose hog." I can't keep him out of the water when I'm outside. And, even though there is no soap, I'm sure this helps keep him clean. He gets totally soaked at least three or four times a week when I'm outside watering my plants.

There should be no "hard fast rules" for bathing any dog. I have always given my dogs baths p.r.n. (as needed). Some oftener and some less often.
