Well I brought Kizzy home like 2 days after she turned 6 weeks old, she weighed 1 lb. I've took care of her and talked to her like she was my real baby. She is 5 months old today and she has never been around dogs but a couple of times. She loves people and she is very smart. I have heard lots of people and read links that puppies shouldnt be taken before 12 weeks at least. But I did read on one link ( I wish I had kept it to send here) that its better to get them between 6 and 8 weeks if their healthy and eat good. She didnt have any teeth till like a month or so after I got her. But that link says its better to get them young so they dont learn as much about the ways of dog packs and such. I dont know who is right or wrong but I'm glad I got Kizzy when I did. She is a good girl and seems to understand almost anything I tell her. Good luck to you and I think its pretty much up to the breeder as to what they feel is the best time to let them go. But I would take it straight to the vet and have it checked over really good when I got her/him. Thats what I did with Kizzy and she got a great ck up with great results. All breeders and puppies are different. But I'm not telling you its better either way. Its up to the breeder and the dogs health in my opinion.
