I brought my puppies home, one at 7 weeks and one at 8 weeks, and neither of their ears were standing up when I brought them home. For both of them, their ears were completely up around 9 weeks. However, my parents' yorkie's ears NEVER stood up and neither did my grandmother's yorkie. My sister's yorkie has one ear up and one down. So, it really depends on the dog whether its ears will stand up or not.

We brought our yorkies home early (before 12 weeks) bc we have a lot of experience with yorkie puppies and we were able to be at home with them 24/7. Yorkie puppies are highly susceptible to hypoglocemia...you have to monitor them very closely the first couple of weeks you have them to make sure they are eating well and regularly, they are getting enough sleep, and that they are staying warm. The longer you wait to bring them home, the less likely they are to have a hypoglocemic attack. In my opinion, 12 weeks is the optimal age to bring a yorkie puppy home.

Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Can't wait to see pics of your new puppy.
