The FFP or fresh frozen plasma is used to provide a source of
glubulins (plasma protein antibodies) which will help protect weak,
fading or orphaned newborns. Since we don't always know if or when a
puppy could fade I routinely give it now to all newborns. Just a
little added insurance.
It comes from a colony of greyhounds that are housed and
rehabilitated for placement and while there they donate blood. The
greyhounds are treated fabulously and are given the chance to be
adopted by loving homes.
