Here's the ingredients in the puppy can formula (3.5 oz.). Most don't want to feed their dog's by-products because it contains beaks, feet, intestines, etc. that are harder to digest. Some of the YT members feed it because it is all their Yorkies will eat so I doubt it is actually harmful, especially since yours is also eating the Merricks.
You might try warming the Merricks up a touch like Kobe's momma does and maybe adding a bit of water.
