I've met people who have no children. Like most of us we can become overly obsessive about things, people, ahem....dogs
. I think in this instance her world may be focused on things because she has nothing else. I'm sure later down the road she'll realize that things are replaceable but not people. Hopefully this insight will help alleviate the sting. Forgive her for her short-sightedness and you'll find new friends....maybe one who loves her yorkie as much as you
