Hi and welcome to Yorkietalk Katie. My little girl had ear mites when I got her and my vest cleaned out her ears and gave me drops and I had no problems. She stopped itching and they cleared right up. My vet also said it is mostly common in the youngest of dogs, because my older dog didn't get them at all. He said after the drops are done we shouldn't have a problem again, and we didn't.
