He needs to be on a special low protein, low fat diet. Science Diet makes a formula, especially for this. I also think there is a prescription you can get from the vet that helps reduce the ammonia in the blood. The chicken is to high in protein and that is why he vomited. Most likely blood is bypassing his liver through an extra vein (called a shunt). When this happens the blood is not properly cleansed and it becomes toxic, mostly due to the build up of ammonia. Surgery is very expensive, like 3 or 4 thousand.

I am sorry you are having to deal with this. Unfortunately, many Yorkies have this genetic problem.
