I have heard that some dogs just like to hear their own voice so maybe he is barking just to be heard. Sometimes when a puppy first discovers his/her won vice they will bark a little more than usual. Or maybe he just loves you so much that he is trying to communicate with you. I know this sounds crazy but maybe the next time your puppy barks you could try walking around with him and asking him what is the problem. After a few rounds around the room looking at everything maybe he might get the picture and only bark when he has something intelligent to say. LOL! Our pups used to do that and my husband walked around the room with Sonny asking him what was wrong and showing him everything was okay and now he doesn't bark unless he is playing, wants to go outside or if something is wrong like someone is at the front door (or cat at the back door) or if my candle drips into the floor. Now his bark has become a communication thing.
