weird tale posture to me says a couple things. 1) back problems. is he standing funny at times too or not putting pressure on any one leg? is he holding his head weird at times? 2) lyme disease - he might have picked up a tick when you weren't looking and contracted lyme dis. 3) something wrong with an anal gland. does the area look read and swollen?
these are just some things that i thought right after reading your post. i would take him to a vet just in case
