Welcome to YT and congrats on your new little girl. Bless you for rescuing her, it sounds like she needed you! Give her some time, what everyone else is saying makes lots of sense. She obviously wasn't treated as anything other than a baby maker. All of this love and freedom is foreign to her. I would add to shut the closet doors (or bedroom doors if the closet doesn't have doors). As she was always in a small crate, you don't want to confine her in a small area, but is there a room you can block off for her (the kitchen, perhaps) and equip it with pee pads, food, water and a doggie bed. A bed with some kind of hood (partial or full) will probably give her that secure feeling (ie; hiding in the closet) but start to retrain her in the right direction. Potty training is hard enough with a puppy, so you will need much patience. I like the idea of lots of walks (using a harness) as well. Best of luck to you both. Give her lots of hugs and kisses, but take her lead. I'm sure you will be letting us know very soon just how well she is doing.
