 I have one with a natural tail and I like it just fine.  It does however, create an optical illusion making her body look rather long for her height.  I can't say I have ever had a problem with a dew claw, but if you do not stay on top of nail cutting the nail will curve and grow into the skin.  Also, since the nail grows in a curve they are more likely to get it caught on something and cause an injury.
