I have lost all 3 parents (2 bio, 1 Step) in the last 3 years.
My Step Dad passed away in Sept since then I have had to fight legally to remove a jerk co-excutor who refused to step down or do anything leaving me and my family in a stand still of estate matters.
Now 8 months later when everything is almost settled (jerk has been removed) my sister who was estranged from my parents for many years and has done nothing but hurt our family is trying to blackmail me by saying she will contest or refuse to sign if I don't give her more of the estate (which I cannot legally do).
My father left almost everything to me and his grandchildren (my kids) as we were very close to him and my mother before she passed two years before him, but even though my father and sister were not on speaking terms he still left her several thousand dollars. She is lucky to get anything but can make this process cost me years of heartache and tens of thousands of dollars. I just need this to be over so my family and I can heal. Its awful what people will do to others for money.
