Awww those mean people are terrible! One thing that will help the APPEARANCE of her ears is to trim the top 1/3 of the hair as close to the actual ear as you can, easiest when they are wet..use sharp scisors, and have a steady hand...then let the fringe at the bottom grow out, and it will make them look much smaller.
I had a guy once upon a time with "dumbo" ears...we would pick him up and zoom him around the room sayind "I can fly, I can fly!" LOL...poor guy! I think he developed a complex! ha
