I don't think she was being mean when she said it; I was just embarrassed when my husband told me about it. Penny is never left outside to bark. She just peeks out the windows and lets me know about all of the activity.

Unfortunately, she won't get used to the neighbor and stop barking. She never got used to the old neighbors, and she liked them. She's just the type to bark. Even when DH comes home she'll start barking and run to meet him.

The neighbor hasn't had her dogs debarked... I've heard them. They just seem more mild-mannered. Penny is a hung-strung dog, always has been.

We've been working on her barking since we got her 2 years ago, to no avail. We'll keep trying, though.

ETA: I should mention that I met her a few days ago. She explained she lived alone, and asked about our situation. I told her it was my husband, myself, and our Yorkie... who she's probably heard. She said yes she had and that she had two that we'd probably heard. I have heard them, but only twice! Penny on the other hand...
