In our area, the building must be vacated if the paint contains lead. And, it is suggested that it be sealed instead of removing by scraping or sanding or something. You can call poison control and ask them if there are other dangers to huans and animals. This is scary to me because I worked in the ER in the city and we saw so much lead poisoning in kids...even you should wear a mask when you are in the house even if they are NOT actually working removing paint.
