It does sound like staph and if so, a cephalosporin might be ordered along with a medicated shampoo and ointment. It is easily treated when the right meds are used so don't give up the faith...The vet can send a sample of the drainage to a lab and learn exactly what the bug is and treat it with just the right meds. Good luck and hope she gets well soon..
