My Mom's mini schnauzer has cushings disease and diabetes (she is on insulin twice a day) my mom's dog on SD because of her cushings disease, and she gets pancratitis (sp?) if she eats "normal" food. You are right though...there isn't alot of nutrition in SD but, it is good for animals that have stomach problems or other digestive issues.....just a little FYI
