First I would like to thank all of you who do rescue work for saving the
lives of so many dogs of all breeds. I have, over they years, adopted two
dogs from the local animal shelter. One was a german shepard who was one
and lived to be 17yrs. The second was a terrier mix who was approx 2yrs I
was told and lived to be 16yrs. Both had to be put down at the end due to
old age. I would not put myself through that heartbreak again I told myself. Well
two yrs later I realized I missed my fur baby and deceided to get a Yorkie.
Now living in a condo, kids grown, home sold. I contacted YTNR and never
heard from them problably because I worked. I know many rescue groups
do not approve of a working MOM. I think that might be one reason pups
don't move fast. I finally purcahsed my Yorkie for $1400.00. I am a working
Mom and can still give a pet a loving home. He was 3 1/2 mos when I got him, he was trained at 5mos and at 2yrs has full run of my condo and touches
nothing and is fully trained in every way. It is the amount of time and love
you give your pet when you are at home that counts as far as I am concerned. I take 1/2 hr. every morning after his breakfast and sit on the floor and play with him. When I am home after work it is Buddy and I. He
sleeps with me and weekends we go places. I am committed to my fur baby.
I would have had no problem giving the money to any group but never
heard from them and was told by others it was because I am not at home
during the day. I personally wanted a rescue and older dog but had no luck
so I bought one. Guess it was meant to be.
Thanks again to all you rescuers you are special people. |
