If the tick hasn't gone completely under the skin, light a match and let it burn for 30 seconds or so. Then blow it out and put the hot match head onto the tick. It will burn/hurt the tick so it will back out of the skin. This happened to Kona last week, the head was just barely under the skin, but we couldn't get it out with tweezers. The match trick worked.
