When my daughter was about 2 she had one on the back of her head...well to say the least I FREAKED!! We brought her to the ER and the doc removed it...He told us to grasp the tick with tweezers and turn counter clock wise and pull...The turning causes the tick to release (from within the skin) and this way you get the head as well.
Good Luck...I'm glad it's not me!!! Yuck!
