I would just tell her the truth, sometimes the truth hurts & you might lose a friend but if it were me I would rather you be honest with me than just not tell me..and if she is a good close friend she will get over it sooner or later and call you to be friends again. You are doing her kids and a little yorkie a good favor maybe thats what she needs someone to tell her the truth..No one problem has told her before..
