thats what I have been doing and it has worked pretty well. Max isn't as afraid of sounds anymore...thank Goodness, cause he is 3 months and 30 pounds, alittle harder to pick up than my yorkies... our neighbors behind us had some trees cut down a few weeks ago, it was like a three ring circus, but I took Max up on his leash( alot of noise) he got scared and was trying to go back home, I picked him up and stayed there for about 15 min. holding him and that seem to help alot..
