I think it is common in all the toy breeds, but definitely in Yorkies. Many do say to give honey, but since I have read so many times that you shouldn't give honey to a baby until they are 1 year (and have read don't give to puppies) because of bacteria I prefer to use Nutracal or Nutristat. It also is more beneficial because it has other things besides sugar.
