You keep saying you want small but not tiny - 4# IS TINY. The double/triple rule doesn't always work. Loki was 3.5 pounds at 13 weeks when we brought him home. He is 9-10lbs and skinny as can be. He's tall and long. He is a SMALL dog. We've been training for over a year and there has only been one dog smaller than him, a baby chi, in any of his classes. He still fits on my lap, in his purse/carrier thing, in his car seat, etc. Please don't freak out if your dogs are a little bigger - Yorkies are tiny dogs. You are brining home 7.5 week old dogs, you need to realize you have bigger things to worry about. Get those dogs in classes as soon as they get their shots. Yorkies NEED socialization. If you are that concerned that they will top 4.5 pounds then wait until they are older to bring them home. No one can tell you how big they are going to be at this age.
Just FYI, the best breeders of ANY breed do not let their pups go until 12 weeks. There is too much socialization from mom that they miss and they are not past their imprint stages... there are too many variables. Please be careful. |
