Are you saying a silky's hair can't touch the ground or should not touch the ground?? A silky's hair should not touch the ground, but it does grow to the ground and needs to be trimmed. I have seen alot of silkies where the owners kept them in a full coat with their hair coming down to the ground just like a yorkie's. It just is not acceptable in the show ring just like the hair on the silky's face is kept shorter and they don't have any topknots in their hair. So judging a silky vs yorkie, hair length is not going to tell you anything with pets.
