hey lolabella - not sure how old Mia is, but Buddy at 7 months has the same trouble - we'll do metronidazole for a week and then it will come back - by now it takes about a month to come back - and it's usually after something suspicious happens - in this case, he had been neutered a week or 2 before (a stressful situation) then he went and played in a friends backyard and I know he must have eaten some things that weren't good for him. Then I gave him some different food.
The type of diarrhea can be telling - if you see mucous or if it's "pudding-like" - that can make a difference. Also, I find that his poop does come out in the order it "goes in" - so if I know he's eaten well earlier in the day, but then snags a random piece of food on the floor, then I understand why the poop comes out solid, but watery at the end...that can be a clue.
I'll try to help as much as possible, but definitely the vet will be able to help you diagnose. Good luck! |
