I should have mentioned - that even though they are normal and we all have them - ocassionally (very rarely), they are shaped a little different than they should be and are quite bothersome for some people. And - I have heard of them being removed for this reason.

Again - they are the last couple ribs on the bottom that are not attached to our sternum. This is the way they are supposed to be.

While visiting his new vet this week, upon examination the doc called his tech over to feel the hook shapes protruding from my baby's sides. Both said they have never encountered such. I smiled and covered Gizmo's ears and said he was discounted because he was "special". After licking his new doc square in the mouth he replied yes, he is . They are slightly visible in one of these pictures.
