I got call from the person who adopted tias sister to let me know that she had her puppy in to see the vet and has found out that she has Coccidia. I wsn't going to take Tia into the vets until I got home on Monday, but I will take her in tommorrow. I have read a bit about this. What I need to know is if it is safe to have Tia around Bailey. Do I contact the breeder. Who is responsible for vet bills. Is there anything I should do with Tia consideing her size. Any help with this wil be appreciated |
Coccidia can be very dangerous. You need to keep Bailey away from her poop. I would give her plenty of liquids to keep her hydrated and I would also give her nutri-cal because sometimes this will cause them to become hypoglycemic( Low sugar) because of her size. You need to get her started on Albon, which your vet will give you if she test positive for coccidia. She may not have coccidia, but if her sister has it, she probably does to. Keep her with you at all times, and watch for signs of hypoglycemia. How does she act? Be sure to get her to the vet ASAP!! If you have any questions, please e-mail me.
