Default How COLD is TOO COLD

My DH and DD's were going to the Itchetucknee Springs on July 8th. It's about 1.5hr drive from home. Then you put your inner tube in at the top of the river and float down for about 1.5hr thru the trees, some places it's shady for a minute or two, others its sunny. I was wondering if we should take the dogs (cockapoo and yorkie) with us, letting them ride in our lap. It does NOT go fast at all. BUT here's the catch, the water is so cold that it's like 68-70 degrees year round, of course you get used to it after a little bit, and youre fine. But does anyone think it's a good idea with the furkids going along?
