Sissy was the same way. She fought like crazy at first, but I would keep at it until I got the elastic in. Eventually she would leave it alone. She is still not crazy about bows in her hair, so I reserve those for when we go out usually. As long as the bow is not heavy she will eventually forget about it and leave it alone as well.
