I gave up on pad-training and encouraged her to go outside. Probably the most sensible way to potty train.
After food or play, take your precious one outside and do not stop saying "Go potty" (or you can break it up into "go peepee" and "go poopie"). When the business is finished -- praise a lot!
When an accident happens at home -- punish. The problem is in consistency and how far you want to go with punishment. My punishments for accidents and misbehaving are severe and consistent. Now, we do not have accidents anymore, pee on command and learnt about 2 dozen commands/tricks.
