The dogs love hooves -- I hate them, they stink big time, so needless to say the Yorkie kids don't get hooves.
What I have found the absolute best in safe chewing is a beef shank bone. I have the butcher cut a beef shank in 3/4" slices (like little round steaks with a "marrow bone in the middle). I use the shank to make a beef stew or some soup, and the clean cooked bone goes to the doggies. The bones do not splinter, and I have never ever had even an aggressive chewer even put a dent in one. The bones look like little donuts and they are all over the house

No stink, no slime, no mess no chocking hazzard
