She could be keeping it clean at night because she's asleep. Try tiring her out more so she sleeps while you are gone too. Having a larger crate for them is great - once they are crate/house trained. Loki's crate is 3 times as big as his "puppy" crate was. You have the right idea, she's just not ready for it yet :-) Make sure you are not keeping her in there longer than she can hold it. Make sure you also have a feeding schedule and limit water 30 mins or so before you put her in the crate for a longer period of time - and then take her out 2 or 3 times before you leave or walk around the block to make sure she is "empty"
