I'm new to this forum. I've had my yorkie for about four months, she's still a puppy. Anyways, I brought her to the groomer, and asked for a "summer cut," thinking that the groomer would just take a little bit more off. Boy was I wrong. When I went to pick my dog up, the groomer told me I could go in the back and get her. I went out back, and couldn't find my dog. So I called the groomer over and asked where my dog was. "Right here." she says, and points to a dog that looks exactly like a chihuahua. I was in shock. She had shaved all of my dogs hair off. I think the groomer knew something was wrong, and told me puppies were free, but I couldn't walk out without paying her, even though my dog was botched, so I gave her 20$ and left.

So now, my dog seems to be horribly depressed. She's usually hyper and now she just seems to mope around the house. She won't play with our other dog, and just lays around all day. So my question is, how long on average does it usually take for yorkies to grow their hair? I've enclosed three pictures. The first two are when she was a puppy, about three months ago, and the last was taken today in her chihuahua state. As you can see, she took a good shaving. Any ideas on how long it will take for her to get some length on her hair again?

I deliberately shaved my Biewer Yorkie exactly like that a few months ago. Now his hair is growing out beautifully - and it's actually helped his coloring come in stronger!
