I know someone whose dog is paralyzed from Lyme Disease. He is perfectly happy and capable of enjoying life. They take him for walks in a wagon. They are harder to care for, but as long as you are able to do this I don't see any reason to put him down, if they're not in any pain.
I've had to put dogs down before and although it was a hard decision I always knew I made the right decision. My last dog was very large, old and arthritic. It was really hard, but the next day when I looked out and she wasn't there it actually felt good knowing she was no longer in pain. |
