It could possibly be a parasite. I love my vet but the vet checked his
stools and said nothing was there. It must be his food. I boiled chicken
and gave him white rice for a couple of days until they firmed up
then tried adding some food. It would start all over again. I had food for
sensitive stomachs, Royal Canin Yorkies & Paul Newman's brand. After
almost 2mos of this I went for a second opinion. He wormed him, problem
gone in 48 hrs. That was six months ago. The new vet said he had a male
parasite that does not lay eggs so they do not show up in the stools. They
hang around in the intestines and cause problems. Eggs can lay on the ground
for ever, even through the winter and can be sniffed up through the nostrils
when the dog is sniffing around outside. Just a thought. Hope he is better
soon.
