Thanks about Cinamin. It turns out that she did actually have cancer. It was in her stomach, throat, and tongue. Surgery would have killed her so we opted to have her put down while we were all there. We did not want the last faces she saw to be someone she did not know. So we were all there, including Mattie, as she passed away. We had her cremated and her ashes returned to us in a beautiful urn that we have on a shelf in our living room wall surrounded by lots of pictures of her taken over all the years of her life with us. We miss her terribly but we know she is in a better place, and we have Mattie here to give us comfort.
