A dog we rescued from the pound many years ago was absolutely terrified of my husband....and all men as a matter of fact. (She had been abused by her previous owner...a man) I contacted a dog psychologist and she recommended that hubby hand feed the dog for a couple of weeks...that he be the ONLY one to feed the dog. It took some time, and patience on his behalf, but it worked, and the dog came to love him immensely. I hope you're able to bond with the dog. It's not his fault that he's acting that way...it does sound like there was abuse somewhere in his past. |
Awww, that's so wonderful and great! Nice job mom!
