Well I am glad to hear that some people have done it with having children.
I know for me it is the win...lol. It was such a rush to show the stad. poodle and I learned so much, loved the social aspect. As a SAHM, I do not get out very often and I want something that I can do. my husband is also crazy about the show ring and wants to show one himself, and then we got talking about junior handling, they start as young as 3 and my little guy turns 3 next year...
So far our system of safely for the yorkies and kids is working not too bad, my DS is in his play room which is gated off during the morning, the yorkies have the run of the rest of the house, during his naps they invade his space (funny just b/c it is gated off it is now the place they want to be so bad!!). In the evening we are all together but they are under supervision.
My Reggie (he is the oldest yorkie he is now 4) loves my son, and will sit and watch him through the gates and has a little bed in my sons room. My son is still in his crib but will howl at night until Reggie gets in his bed. The funnier part is when DS falls asleep, Reggie leaves and comes and joins us adults...lol but then spends the rest of the night in DS room, when sleeping. |
