I agree that he needs a playpen. I got one of those in Petsupermarket ,you can shape it in so many shapes. Right now mine is an L shape.I have it in a corner.Cookie used to scratch the walls and our sliding door until he was about 6-7 months old and then he stopped totally. But when he did that is cause he had to take a poop.
He's a little over a year old now so I leave him loose in our family room ,it has a gate that my hubby made. So he's free to run around there and I usually find him asleep on the sofa neck rest part.
