Someone once suggested in the morning just putting a few ice cubes in a bowl. When they melt, there is a little water there that Nikko can drink. This would probably help him not drink SO much water!
My uncle is a vet and when we were crate training Hobbs, he said it was fine to restrict water. So, I dunno
